Proper Colombian coffee. Freshly grilled arepas. A remarkable historic setting.
Come for something delicious and discover much more: the warmth of Colombian hospitality, the story of a building generations remember and a place created for meeting, pausing and exploring.

Warm, golden and freshly grilled, the arepa is one of Colombia’s most loved foods. At Ruppys, we open each one and generously fill it with delicious combinations including slow-cooked pork, tender beef brisket, shredded chicken, vegetarian or classic ham and cheese.
Complete your first Colombian experience with proper Colombian coffee, warm pandebono or pan de yuca.
Familiar enough to feel comforting. Different enough to remember.
Our family’s relationship with coffee began five generations ago in Miraflores, high in the Colombian Andes.
Today, Ruppys brings together the flavours and hospitality of Colombia with the community spirit of Birkenhead. You may visit for a coffee you already recognise and leave having discovered your first arepa.
However you find us, you will be welcomed with the warmth of a Colombian family table.

Step inside and let Ruppys change the pace of your day.
Special, but never formal. Distinctive, but always welcoming.

our past
The name Ruppys is our affectionate nod to that much-loved chapter of the building when Ruppert's Club used to be here.
Check Ruppys Rides, our free collection of cycling routes beginning and ending at Ruppys.
Follow the waterfront to New Brighton, explore local parks and historic places, or take on a longer journey across the Wirral Peninsula. View each route on Strava or download the GPX file directly to your phone or cycling computer. Begin with coffee, return for an arepa and share the ride with friends.
We encorage members of the public of contibrute to our cycling collection, send us a GPX file of a ride starting and ending at Ruppys and you will receive a free arepa and a drink.
